The BOPS community
BOPS is part of the Open Digital Planning Community, a movement to build the next generation of planning services in local government.
Slack communities
Everyone involved in BOPS can join our Slack communities. We have several channels dedicated to sharing learning, helping others and improving the services. We’ll invite you to these channels when you sign up, but here are some to get you started:
#bops-delivery-team: For council leads working with the Unboxed team to design, build and improve features within BOPS.
#bops-product-group: For council leads to share updates and get involved in service development.
You can also join the ODP Slack community. Here’s a handy guide to navigating ODP Slack channels.
GitHub repository
Developers at BOPS work in the open, which means that our code can be found in a public repository on GitHub. You can read through the entire commit history of the project, see the discussions that have taken place in pull requests and even run the project yourself locally to see how it works.

Show and Tells
The BOPS team shares progress through monthly ODP Show and Tells. These are open, online sessions lasting up to 1 hour where you can hear from all of the teams involved in the ODP project.

Internal demos
These are remote sessions for everyone involved in ODP delivery. Monthly sessions alternate between BOPS and PlanX and are facilitated by MHCLG.

When you need support
We’re always here to help. You can ask a question in a Slack channel or DM a member of the team. If you need general support with onboarding, contact Freya Cunningham, BOPS Lead at Southwark Council on freya.cunningham@southwark.gov.uk
