Data principles

One of the guiding principles of BOPS is that we should use data over documents. We believe data should be:

Accurate

Does not contain errors and matches what is the ground truth

Simple

Efficient in informing people about the facts it describes (not huge and complex)

Clear

Straightforward and specific

Understandable

Can be understood easily in terms of purpose and facts

Accessible

Can be found easily, understood easily and taken away to be processed

Reusable

Can be used for many, diverse purposes

Structured

Pieces of data relate to each other and sit within frames of reference

Considerate

Data is not wasted or unnecessarily collected

Responsible

Data is secure and respects both legal and ethical standards in its collection, use and storage
