Step 3: Get approval to use BOPS at your council

Why you need to do this

You must follow your internal sign-off processes to ensure you are authorised to use BOPS for live planning applications at your council.

What you need to do

  1. Get approval to use BOPS from your Head / Director of Planning

  2. Engage with your internal IT, Information Governance, Procurement and Finance teams to identify the people who can help you. Find out what information they need including any forms you need to complete, and follow your internal processes for getting approval.

  3. Ask your Information Governance Team to produce and submit Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and Data Sharing Agreements (DSA) for approval (you’ll need one for each product/supplier).
